The Future 5 G
5G will reach over 40% of the world’s population and will reach 1.5 billion people by the end of 2024, according to the latest report by the Ericsson.
5G networks promise a internet speed much higher, but and a latency much less than the 4G, the technology that we use currently. Researchers at Ericsson predicts that every internet user 5G will consume over 21 GB per month until 2024, i.e. nearly four times more than at present. The consumption of the internet will increase very much on the streaming video, i.e. from 3.4 GB as it consumes monthly currently up to 16.3 GB.
Thus, by 5G networks will perform 25% of the total traffic of mobile data, and in North America and in Northeast Asia we will see the first networks implemented then in western Europe.
Also, the number of devices connected to the internet will reach 4,1 miliardde in 2024, i.e. nearly six times more devices than are currently.
In the third quarter of the year there were sold about 360 million smartphones, which means almost 86% of the entire market of mobile phones.
The penetration of smartphones will continue to grow, and by 2024, their number would reach 7.2 billion. In 2024 there will be 8.9 billion subscriptions of mobile, and of these 8.4 billion will be subscriptions for mobile broadband.
Telecom operators in the U.S. say that they expect to implement network 5G with effect from mid-2019 and early 2020, we will see the first service 5G on a large scale. Then the expansion of networks will continue for many years to increase the capacity, but also to increase the area of coverage.
5G FWA will be a key technology that allows the provision of connectivity services (very high speeds) through the spectrum of radio frequencies, without the use of the old networks of copper and optical fiber. Samsung and Verizon will enter service in the second half of this year in Sacramento. The companies expect to increase the number of subscribers who use the service 5G to 30 million in the coming years.
However, the U.s. is not the only country that is interested in 5G. Samsung has worked closely with mobile operators, south Korean and, recently, the company has demonstrated the potential of 5G by different testing services. In Japan, a number of mobile operators major will invest around 44,86 billion USD, in order to provide services 5G at the national level to 2023. Japan has plans to start the delivery of services 5G in certain areas of the 2020 strategy, on the occasion of the summer Olympic Games, the sporting event that will take place in Tokyo.
